Woburn Abbey

The oldest Shell Room in Britain, built in1620 by Isaac De Caus. Shells, simulated rocks and coral cover walls and ceiling. The landscape gardens also contain a Shell House c.1810. The owner, The Duke of Bedford, also built the Shell House at Endsleigh, Devon (from 1810).
